Heather & Leon | Harbour-Front Wedding at Bradleys Head Amphitheatre
By Laced in Vows — Sydney Wedding Photography & Videography
A romantic harbour-front afternoon at Bradleys Head in Mosman — a natural stone amphitheatre, soft florals framing the harbour, and golden light spilling across the water. Shot on a blend of digital and 35mm film.
Some places make you feel small in the best possible way. Bradleys Head is one of them.
The Venue
Bradleys Head Amphitheatre is one of Sydney Harbour’s quiet showstoppers. A natural sandstone amphitheatre carved into the foreshore at Mosman, with the city skyline, the Opera House, and the Harbour Bridge sitting just beyond the aisle. The kind of place where the eucalypts filter the afternoon light, the water glints below, and the setting feels both grand and intimate at once.
It’s an outdoor ceremony location with almost no peers in Sydney. The amphitheatre’s stone tiers gather guests close around the couple, while the harbour opens up wide behind them — a rare combination of scale and intimacy in the same frame.
The ceremony took place at the water’s edge, with the bridge framed perfectly through Heather and Leon’s floral arch. Afterwards, the celebration drifted easily — portraits along the foreshore, golden hour on the sandstone, and a night that carried on with the city lights shimmering across the water.
The Day at a Glance
Venue: Bradleys Head Amphitheatre, Mosman
Format: Digital and 35mm film
Ceremony: Outdoor, harbour-front amphitheatre
Florals: Soft, romantic floral arch framing the harbour
Light: Golden afternoon into early evening
Vibe: Elegant, heartfelt, unhurried
Held by the Harbour
There’s a particular kind of magic that comes with a wedding on the water — the breeze in the veil, the boats drifting past, the city skyline catching the last of the light. Heather and Leon’s day leaned gently into all of it, letting the setting do what it does best.
On Film
Bradleys Head and film are a beautiful pairing. The warm sandstone, the deep blues of the harbour, the dappled eucalyptus light — 35mm renders all of it with a softness and depth that digital can’t quite replicate. These are images that will still feel timeless decades from now.
